About
TuarTuar is the
second youngest and
smallest male orca in the pod, but he is quickly catching up. He is
pretty long and a slender orca for his age. During performances he puts
all his energy in behaviours and is very gentle with his trainers when
they enter the water with him. He knows many basic behaviours and since
his move to SWT he has learned lots of complex
ones too, especially the jump
for the ball at the end of the show.
Tuar’s name is very special, because for the first time the public was able to vote. Three names were suggested, Illa, Okkar and Tuar; people voted for the name that means “Unique”.
Tuar is quite dominant for a male orca, he can even rake Unna if he gets annoyed, but he will be soon put back in his place.
