Taima was born during a thunderstorm and was named "Thunder Crash" in native american. Her mother, Gudrun was the dominant female at SWF and Taima could do what she wanted. After her mother's death the tension between her and the other dominant female, Katina, began.

Taima gave birth to two male orcas and she showed aggressions to both of them. She was believed to be a bad mother and was put on birth control. In 2006 it was discovered that she was pregnant and in March 2007, she gave birth to her third offspring and this time, it was a little girl. With this calf, she showed her protective side and was really gentle with her calf. To help her raise the newborn, taima was put with Takara to have an experienced mother around her. This work worked out well until June 2008, when Taima often refused to perform.

This resulted in a short separation of Taima and Malia, however when Taima had calmed down after being put with the other females of the park, they were reunited.
In late 2008, it was announced that she got pregnant by Tilikum again and was due in June 2010. Unfortunately on June 5, she went into labor and delivered a stillborn calf the following day. Taima died the same day from birth complications.

Taima has never been transferred.
