About
T13 / Flores
O4
later named Flores (T13), was a transient female who has been identified in 1975
for the first time. Along with her was O5, Pender (T14)
who was believed to be her son.
Both of them stuck together and were barely seen separated. In March 1976 they were captured along with many other transient orcas. But due to public's complaints, the two orcas were not kept. Both were first sent to Seattle Marine Aquarium and were radio-tagged and after 55 days both were released.
Flores and Pender were often encountered after their release. Unfortunately FLores' last sighting was in 1998 and she is presumed dead. But her only known offspring is still alive.
