About
SkylaSkyla
is a young
female orca who was separated from her mother at a very young age.
Kalina taught her calves to be independent
during the first years, so
Skyla got used to her new mates very quickly. Skyla used to play with
the other young orcas at SWF and never showed any sign of shyness.
She left her mother’s side when she was just some months old
in
order to investigate the other part of the tank.
At SWF she learned the basic behaviours and performed alone or with other orcas at the park. At LP she was taught many new tricks, she is a quick learner and is catching up with the older orcas at the park. In 2008 she learned many new behaviours and is even doing waterworks with her trainers during shows.
