Shachi /
シャチShachi
was a juvenile female captured in February 1986. Being caught off the
bay of Taiji, she went to Taiji Whale Museum, where she waited for the
transfer to her final home. In May 1986 she was bought by Izu-Mito Sea
Paradise. The young orca settled in well and soon performed during
daily performances in a sea pen. Sadly she died within the first years
in captivity. After catching pneumonia in 1988, she passed away in
March.
