About
Ramu II
Ramu 2
was an almost full-grown bull orca who was captured in April 1969. Out
of 11 orcas, just 2 were kept and
one of them was Ramu; the
other one was
a young unnamed female.
Ramu was put in a sling and went on a long journey to Australia. Keeping orcas was something new at marine parks and was a star straight away. However Ramu did not survive long in Australia and as he died on May 17 1970, a year after his capture.
