About
Patty (Freyja)
Patty
was a young female captured off the east
coast of Iceland in November
1984. She was captured with
4 other orcas which all of whom
were sent to Saedyrasafnid Aquarium after capture
where they waited to be sold.
Patty and a male, later named Bingo were purchased by Kamogawa Sea World and were moved out in November 1985. When they arrived at the park they met another female, named Caren*, who had already lived at the park for 5 years.
The 2 new orcas were introduced to their new environment and soon performed during shows. In 1987, Caren* passed away and Patty soon followed her on September 16, leaving Bingo alone. Patty died from an inflammation of the intestine.
