  About Nemo

Nemo was captured along with several orcas off the coast of Iceland. All orcas were immediately sent to Saedyrasafnid Aquarium, where they waited for the move to their new home.

Nemo, Neptune* and an unnamed male* orcas were purchased by Clacton Dolphinarium in the United Kingdom and they arrived there shortly after their capture. Unlike the young male, who died within weeks of arriving at the pier, Neptune* and Nemo acclimated quickly. Both orcas got along well and performed during daily shows. Unfortunately Neptune* died in 1983 leaving young Nemo alone. For 2 seasons he performed at the park, until he was bought by Windsor Safari Park.

Nemo was moved to Windsor Safari Park in 1984 and here he met a juvenile female named Winnie*. Nemo immediately called for her and both showed interest in each other. Unfortunately both didn't get well as trainers hoped, mostly both orcas were kept separated.

In November 1986 Nemo passed away from thrombocytosis.
