  About Natsidalia

Natsidalia was an adult female, who was captured along with 6 pod members in April 1968. All of them were held at Pender Harbour for the first weeks. Natsidalia was a big female and it was rumoured that the much smaller Hyak II* was her son.

Two of the other females, Kianu* and Bonnie* were thought to be pregnant and were the first ones to be transferred. Corky* and Orky II* left the bay on May 13, 1968 and Irving escaped in August, leaving Natsidalia and her possible son Hyak II in the pen.

Both were purchased by Vancouver Aquarium. Unfortunately Natsidalia died from a heart failure before moving to Vancouver Aquarium's main pool. She spent her last part of her life in a sea pen in Garden Bay, close to her capture site.
