NanduIn
November 1983, three orcas were captured off the east coast of Iceland
and were immediately sent to Saedyrasafnid Aquarium.
Two males and one female waited for their shipment and soon they were
bought by marine parks. Nandú and the female were sent to
South America, while Tilikum, the other male was moved to Sealand in
Canada.
Nandú and his tankmate Samoa* arrived at Acuarama Sao Paulo in Brazil in late November 1984. Both of them were trained for shows shortly after however Nandú spent 4 years at the aquarium before he died in 1988. During his stay in Brazil he ate lots of things that were fallen or thrown in his tank. He died from a tumor, which was located close to his kidney.
