About Lovey

ラビー Lovey,
also known as Oyako, was the
first orca that was born and raised at Kamogawa
Sea World. She
is a wonderful performer and knows many tricks. She has witnessed many
orca births and often cares for her little sisters.
In April 2007 Lovey got pregnant for the first time when she mated with Oscar, the park's second bull. After 18 months she gave birth on October 13, 2008 to a healthy male calf. The baby began nursing within 24 hours after birth. Lovey and her calf, Earth are doing very well.
Lovey is now the dominant female at Kamogawa and is the new breeding female now her mother has moved away to Nagoya. Lovey is also especting her second calf in August 2012.
