About Kshamenk

Kshamenk is a young orca bull that was "captured" off the coast of Argentina. Officially he was found stranded, but it’s believed that he was forced to strand by the Mundo Marino staff.

When he was “rescued”, he was sent to Mundo Marino, a park located outside Buenos Aires. He joined a young female called Bélen* and the two got along really well, but also had to be separated at times. Kshamenk showed aggression to her and sometimes harrassed her. Nevertheless, he mated with her and fathered a calf, but it didn't survive. When Bélen died in 2000, it was discovered that she was pregnant again.

Kshamenk spent his time with the dolphins, his favourite is Floppy, a young female; he even tries to mate with her.

Over the years, Kshamenk has grown and he is getting too big for his tanks. Since 2002, Six Flags tries to get Kshamenk, so that he can be a companion for Shouka. But several attempts were denied by the Argentinean government.

Recently it has been mentioned that Mundo Marino have trained Kshamenk for AI and have started to trade with Sea World according to a trustworthy regular to the park.
