Kohana is a maturing female orca, who was born far away from Tenerife. Being the daughter of the most interactive orca in captivity, she was confronted with many people when she was just a newborn.

At first she appeared very shy, but later she showed the same interactiveness as her mother. The two became inseparable and were moved together in 2004, however two years later they were separated when Kohana was moved to Loro Parque.

She is the oldest female at the park and often shows her dominance over the other orcas. Kohana is a very quick learner and knows more behaviours than any other orca at her age.

At the very young age of 7, she gave birth to her first calf, Adán. Sadly, she showed no interest in her calf and he has been raised by the trainers. When the two were re-introduced, they got along well.

Kohana has recently been confirmed pregnant with her second calf and is due in late 2012
