About
Katy
After various attempts to
capture orcas for aquariums, a small pod was finally caught in February
1967. While 5 of them were
released and two drowned, 5
of the others went on a long way to marine parks.
At first they were held at the Seattle Marine Aquarium until some of them were moved to other parks. Katy was the only one who died at the aquarium, while the others were sent out in 1967 and one in 1969.
Katy was the youngest of the group and was barely one year old and unfotunately Katy died in May 1967, the cause of death has never been released.
Little is known about Katy.
