About
KandyKandy was a adult female
who was captured off the coast of
British Columbia. She was kept with 3 other orcas at Pedder
Bay whilst she
waited for her transfer. Marineland Canada purchased her and
she was immediately sent to the park.
The staff hoped that she would be a possible mate for their male, Kandu II*. She was named Kandy, which was probably derived from Kandu, the stage name for orcas at the park.
Sadly Kandy passed away after living 3 months in captivity.
