  About Calypso
Calypso was one of 12 orcas who were captured in Pender Harbour on December 11, 1969; 6 were kept and 6 were released.  17 days later, she was sent through the USA, over the Atlantic and arrived at Cleethorpes Zoo in Great Britain.

She remained there for some months until she was moved again, this time to Marineland France. Her stay wasn't long as she died just one year after she had been captured. She was also the first orca to be AI'd but it was unsuccessful.

Little is actually known about Calypso.
