  About Bubba (OO8901)

Bubba (also known as Prince) was one of 4 orcas that were captured in Ocotber 1987. He and his former pod members were sent to Saedyrasafnid Aquarium. Here, the orcas were given basic training and had to wait until they were sold and their transfers got authorized.

In March 1988, the four orcas finally arrived at Kamogawa Sea World. When the orcas arrived, they were placed in the newly built complex nd they shared it with the resident male, Bingo.

For some reason, it was decided that Bubba was to be sold on. Straight away, Ocean Park in Hong Kong showed interest to the young male. They had a young female and hoped for a breeding program.

In April 1989, he was moved to Ocean Park and met Hoi Wai. Both got along well and they performed during shows together. Unfortunately Bubba became ill with pseudomonas two years later and died on July 10 1991.
