  About Baby Shamu II / SWC-OO-8626
After a long labour of almost 4 hours, Kenau gave birth to her first calf. The baby was nicknamed Baby Shamu 2; since it was the second orca born at SeaWorld. Mother and calf were doing really well, until the baby showed signs of breathing problems. Soon she was under medical treatment, but she didn't respond and died one day later.  
  • This calf was nicknamed Baby Shamu II, because she was the second baby born at SeaWorld
  • Pronunciation of Baby Shamu: BAY-bee SHA-moo
  • Blood Type: 50 % Icelandic, 50 % Southern Resident
