About
Bonnie
Bonnie
was captured off the coast of British Columbia along with 6 other
orcas. The 6 orcas
were kept in the bay and one escaped whilst they awaited to be
purchased. The two larger females were bought by Marine World Africa in
Redwood CA.
In the bay, Kianu* and Bonnie refused to eat and their health declined. Whilst the orcas were getting one of their checks, it was discovered that Kianu* and Bonnie were adnormally big and it was believed that both females were pregnant.
The arrangement for their move already had been made and both were transferred to Marine World Africa. 35 days after their transfer Bonnie went into labour and delivered a stillborn; shorly after the birth Bonnie died herself due to birth complications.
