   About Baby Shamu II (SWC-OO-8626)
Kenau* gave birth to a female calf after a long 4 hour labour; at first, the calf seemed healthy,  she was nursing fine and bonding well with her mother. A week or so after birth, the calf began to show signs of breathing problems. The vets quickly put her under medical treatment, but she didn't respond and died one day later.

 Name Meaning & Blood Type:
- The calf was never given a proper name as she did not survive long but was nicknamed Baby Shamu II as she was the second baby born in Sea World.
- The Pronunciation of Baby Shamu is: BAY-bee SHA-moo
- Her Blood Type is: 50 % Icelandic, 50 % Southern Resident
