About Athena
Athena was the last orca to be born at Marineland Ontario and she was born during the Olympics games in Athens, hence her name, Athena.

Athena was very curious and often interacted with guests at MLC’s underwater area. Due to her young age, she didn't know as many behaviours as the other orcas did but she often imitated behaviours from her mother and Ikaika;  she even performed front flips.

Unfortunately like her numerous siblings Athena died at a very young age. During the 2008/2009 season, she passed away, probably in Spring 2009. Apparently she was sick for two days and died unexpectedly. Her cause of death remains unknown.
