NOTES & GUIDELINES

Welcome to the notes & guidelins of Cetacean Cousins. This is where we explain any coding or any other important features and how these can be used.
  1. Captive Cetacean Coding
    • Due to the many unnamed cetaceans within captivity, we have devised our coding system. These codes are no offical ID codes and have no link with the parks in question.  The code itself has a similar format to that of SeaWorld.
EXPLAINATION:
    • We have taken the first three letters of the park where the individual first entered for example Dolphinarium Harderwijk in Holland will be 'DH'
    • The next bit of the code is designated by the species concerned, with the use of its scientifc name for example Bottlenose Dolphin will be 'TT'
    • The following bit indicates if the individual was captured, stranded or born, for example 'B' for born
    • The next bit is the last two numericals of the year it entered captivity, for example 2010 will be '10'
    • And finally the last bit shows what number indivdual it is for example the first born of that park will be '01'
FINAL CODE: 'DH-TT-B1001'
